columbia - i can only give you an explanation from the commsec point of view but i imagine the other platforms are the same

if you look at the Volume column for mco today you will see 86,200 but the columns for Open, High and Low are all 0.00 which would not be a possible combination in a pre-Chi-X environment because you know that if there had been any Volume there would have to be an Open/High/Low.

so you then click on Course Of Sales where you can see valid trades with the NXXT Condition and you can then determine what Open/High/Low must have been and understand what the real closing price is

it's not too difficult but you have to wonder why these Chi-X trades can't be incorporated into the ASX numbers
