Hi debono,
Up front, my previous post did not recognize
Steve Waugh as the champion sportsman
that he has become ..... probably the best captain
of any Australian team, bar none.
------
On the issue of age discrimination in the workforce .....
if you think it doesn't exist, then just ask some of the
many people over 45, who cannot get work in some
industries, despite have years of experience at doing
the same job .....
If there's an age cap on first grade sportsmen, then
they know the rules from the beginning and should
plan accordingly ...... if they still want to play their
sport at a State level or local level, then they are
still free to do so ..... that would be even more
beneficial, as they would still be in a position to pass
on their skills to those on the way up the ladder.
-----
Yes, TEAM performance IS what it is all about and
no individual's needs should be ever put ahead of the
team's agenda ..... champion or no champion.
happy days
