Aka I checked with the relevant govt body, the bond is a cash bond. the money is paid. It is not a bank guarantee. So if all goes according to plan, and the JV does incur cleanup costs 50/50, part of this bond will be repaid in approx 20 years. The rest would be used for their share of the cleanup. The NPV of the repaid moneys is negligible so the 20 mill is a true cost in today's numbers.
Just to clear that up.
