Naga Selatan Prospect Summary
• Located approximately 10km NE, and along trend of the Sei Nangka oil field.
• Well imaged on the new seismic data and mapped as a four-way dip closure, bounded to the west by NE-trending thrust fault.
• Target reservoirs are the Miocene fluvio-deltaic Pulau Balang and Balikpapan Formations. These reservoirs are over 80m thick at the Sambutan field and have porosities up to 25%.
• Oil was recovered from the seismic shot-holes whilst acquiring the new 2D seismic, indicating an active petroleum system adjacent to the prospect.
• Most likely recoverable oil of 20 mmbbls.



Naga Utara-1 Well:

As of the 9th March 2012 the sidetrack has been drilled in a 6 inch hole to 5066 feet measured depth (MD).
The high pressure gas zone seen in the original hole was again encountered from 4825 feet MD to 4880 feet MD. An additional gas bearing sandstone was encountered between 4975 feet MD to 5040 feet MD.
Due to high pressure gas influx from the lower sandstone interval and the rig equipment pressure rating now being close to the formation pressure encountered, the operator has decided to call total depth of the well (TD). The interval will be evaluated with wire-line logs.


Naga Utara-1 Facts:

1.Had a proposed TD of 5500 ft MD.
2.Actual TD 5040 ft MD.
3.Reason = {As above} An additional gas bearing sandstone was encountered between 4975 feet MD to 5040 feet MD.

4.This additional lower sandstone interval was totally unexpected.
5.This could represent a new play that was not known before the start of the Drill,because of the rig pressure equipment that was present,not being able to cope with the pressure that was encounted in this lower sandstone interval.
6.This is the reason cue has decided to drill to 6500 ft TD for Naga Selatan ,to test this zone,which could be a totally new play.They have obviously brought in new equipment to Drill through this pressure zone if it exists under Naga Selatan.
