Newsletters usually have an introductory offer for new subscribers so you can dip your toes in. Often a general newsletter will feed lines to new subscribers such as
"the market is too complicated/scary/dangerous for an ordinary person to partake in. You really need our help to survive/succeed/make money."

I subscribe to one of their publications, diggers and drillers. It is one tool/arm of research that I use. Am happy with the information and will continue to subscribe.

Subscription services make money in both a bull and bear market. PLenty of them out there. Intelligent Investor, Eureka Report, plus many specialists. They all have teaser emails to try and sign you up.

I think they all have try before you buy. That way you can see if they fit in with your particular trading style.

With diggers, I only hold a few of their tips. As an l-plater, it is more important to concentrate on your trading. Stop losses, research, stock picking, risk:reward, parcel sizing etc. Then finehone with a newsletter.
