Speaking of burdens. How's this for people getting payments they shouldn't be because the Government is inept.
Immunisation Allowance. Payed in stages, as a child reaches certain immunisation ages, as an incentive to immunise the child. July 1 it stops but if you meet criteria before then you still get the allowance. Our daughter finished Chemo but has to defer 6 months for her next shots due to immune having to build up. Filling out a form or our Ocologist updating her status by phone on the Immunisation Registra still grants us the next payment.
You can refuse immunisation on Religous grounds and still get the full payment. And the best one, you can refuse immunisation on 'philosophical' grounds and STILL get the full payment.
Now, have I missed something. I thought the payment was an incentive to immunise a child not for not immunising a child. Have you ever wondered how many billions of dollars of our taxes are floating around with inept implementation of Gov policies?
