A smart squirrel knows that he must collect acorns during the good months and store them safely in his tree because when the bad weather comes he will need to eat.

Succesive governments have squandered all our nuts and now they are looking to attack the weakest links to try and repair the problem.

Next will be the pensioners in my opinion.

During the boom times the government should have been building up a huge surplus but instead both the Howard era and Rudd era have blown it already on ridiculous schemes.

At times like this they could be implementing infrastructure projects, fixing roads, building railways and hospitals etc which would give people jobs who would then pay taxes.
