thank you agl!

I recently got my first electricity bill after installing a modest solar PV system and signing up to the Premium Feed In Tariff program. After access issues to my smart meter (they cannot be read remotely yet (at least in Vic) - who would have thought that?) were resolved, my bill was adjusted and now AGL owes me $585!

So, thank you AGL, thank you to my energy efficient house (the Rudd Government ceiling insulation program helped there - no one died, no fires were started, I even did some of the insulation myself - it was a doddle) and thank you to the more or less free ongoing energy from the sun.

We all benefit from roof-top solar because it means that on hot days when the air-conditioning is switched on all over the state, demand is reduced and spot power prices do not sky-rocket. (Of course, this may not be quote so beneficial for the generators selling the power at spot prices.)
