Yeah .. I can see the numbers for Friday - I meant I can't see Thursday's .. but I remember that the last number was .22% of the company's capital reported to be short sold.

For a start you're reading the ASX report incorrectly.
I think you'll find that where the report shows 551,654 shorted it means $551,654 - not shares.

I wouldn't get too hung up on ASX released figures though. I'm not sure what the specifics are on what is reproted and how. There are probably loopholes wide enough to drive a truck through. The numbers seen daily on Dart are always quite a bit more than reported.
