Salt cake recycling process
TM explained that Aleco had encountered issues with slurry pumps in the wet process which has prevented increasing rate of salt cake processing. A screw conveyor has been trialed in place of slurry pump. This has been found to be successful. All slurry pumps will be replaced with conveyor screws in the coming weeks. When Alreco stocks of semi-processed salt cake start reducing, Yennora can ship stored salt cake.
Why on earth can't MHM put out an update like the one released by Alcoa's community consultation committee?
An update along a similar line like the one above would not have devastated the SP as the one released end of last month. We now know that the problems were of a mechanical nature, slurry probably causing to much abrasion, and obviously have been fixed with technology invented more than 2000 years ago by a beardy bloke named Archimedes...
It takes all the uncertainty out of the equation and any doubts that the process itself could not work IMO.
