reward vs blame

  1. 28 Posts.

It is becoming a prevalent corporate culture for the chairman and the board of directors to expect to be rewarded for good performance , especially if reflected in the increse of the share price. The SSN mob wants to be rewarded on three fronts. They want bonuses and they want options and they want an increase in the basic salary if the company does well.As though doing well should be above normal expecations of shareholders.
Would it not be an honourable thing to do to take the blame in a situation of adverse performance and the responsibility for the decline a share price. Why not talk of penalties if performance is below par and things are negative and not even stable.
It is this corporate greed that is putting so much of the world economy in a mess. Let any management board member respond on why they should not be penalised for any performance not favourable to the share holders interests.
May be the board will then have more esteem from shareholders and the inclination from them to look after management interest in return for management having looked after their interest. or is it naive to expect that.
rewards for good performance. forget any liabililty on their part if the shareholders are losing their hard earned wealth.
