Despite numerous derogatory comments about their performance, being a director does not give one carte blanche and there are always many factors involved in everything; not least of them are timing, the whims of superior forces, and pure luck.

It certainly smells to me like a political power play. Unfortunate for those who got shafted, but that's life in that part of town. I look forward to the announcement of the replacement(s).
