"But seriously, I think that Tasers should be banned. If a person has an Electrical Conduction problem in the Heart, it could be triggered by a Taser strike"
If a person has a heart it could be penetrated by a police bullet - a bit of a post-modern conundrum. Should the law be legislated to make allowances for all unknown health disorders before attempting to disable an out-of-control offender? In my mind - life is as precious as you yourself believe it to be. If it so happens that a person becomes violently psychotic in a manner that threatens other innocent lives - then they should be disabled. Tasers do this pretty effectively while giving the 'victim' a second chance. If they die on the first encounter - that's sad - but so is all sudden death of an otherwise healthy person.
Lets get real. The police, on the whole, do a magnificent job. I recently witnessed their bravery and professionalism, and have nothing but admiration for anyone who takes up such a confronting and sometimes soul-destroying job. Those young cops really impressed me.
