GENERAL: DGL: 2012 Harvest Announcement
2012 HARVEST ANNOUNCEMENT
Delegat's Group Limited announces that it has concluded the 2012 harvest
which amounted to 20,290 tonnes. The harvest is 16% below forecast yields, a
decrease of 20% on the previous vintage.
The 2012 harvest reflects the higher rainfall and cooler than usual growing
season owing to the strong La Nina weather pattern. Both the Hawke's Bay and
Marlborough regions recorded their lowest Growing Degree Day accumulation
since 2002. Lower temperatures were associated with low sunshine hours with
Marlborough recording the lowest sunshine hours on record (since 1930) in
February.
Despite these growing conditions, the season has delivered very good fruit
quality with intense fruit flavours and concentration of varietal characters.
Jim Delegat, Managing Director, Delegat's Group Limited says "the Group is
managing its inventory levels which will enable it to achieve sales of 1.95
million cases for the 2013 financial year compared to the 2.058 million cases
previously forecast".
