"Where is the funding for mining coming from"

there are some deep pockets invested in AMX . As long as the gold price stays above 1200/oz , they will have no problems with financing the project.

Heres how i see it playing out in the medium term:

stocks/gold/commods continue to drop lower over the next few day, even weeks ( with a few short covering rallies inbetween)

FED will announce (or strongly hint at) that another round of QE is on the horizon. More QE is when , not if.

Stocks will rally.
Gold will rally.
Gold miners will rally most of all.

Confidence from the gold majors shall return, setting valuations higher for thier target acquisitions.

Conditions will be right for m&a activity.

This will spur on the next round of corporate deals, which hopefully should include AMX .

The majors will move decisively before company valuations drift higher and out of bargain territory again.

Same thing happened in 2010 when QE2 was announced. And this time will be no different.
