The investment yield will struggle to hold the 3% aim and this could reduce the investment earnings from my current estimate of $960M by 100 to $150 M giving a result not much higher than last years result of $760M. It will be offset partly by the falling AUD.
The bigger picture, as you have stated, is the lower claim costs for catastrophic events and also the increased premiums across all regions. These are the big result drivers.Again the Falling AUD will assist here as QBE has about 60% of earnings in USD.
I am also hopeful of an upgrade and have doubled my holding .
