We are now in Cairns -Abbott St, we have seen that the SSE has moved on. Our thoughts are that Fisher gave notice (90 days). Maybe Fisher saw the wrting on the wall - prosecution's on the way for breaches of environmental and safety standards.
So they put a board member on to take the position because they have no one qualified on site - no qualified mine manager, no qualified engineer. The word is that the new SSE will only be on site 2 days a fortnight. It is of concern that the acting SSE in the interim, the General Manager of Operations who we are told has no qualifications for the job will be in charge.
We really feel sorry for the people working at Citigold - some are just hanging in there to see where the story ends but most feel that their jobs are threatened due to unprofessional behaviour by those in management positions.
