    Arion,
probably you were on the same ship as my father. He came out in the 50's my mother a few years later. It was a very tough ride. They came from a country that our, now "German friends" had completely destroyed. A bloody civil war followed that. Greece was in ruins, people were dying from starvation. No jobs, no future. Australia had it's industrial revolution, needed hands to work in the factories. The Australian government offered to Greeks and Italians jobs...The ships will arrive, there were no free rides for these people. They paid for their ticket to this country. My father worked 2 jobs, he paid taxes like everybody else. My mother worked full time as well. They both worked until they hit 70, same tune even after they returned to Greece. No fancy holidays, no fancy restaurants. As for the pension, my father gets only half from this country (once again he paid taxes, he is entitled to it, he was not a slave) and half from Greece. My mother doesn't get any since she worked under 10 years in Australia. They deserve everything they have in life. The austerity measures imposed on Greece by our friendly partners in EU (and some piss weak Greek politicians) are now targeting people's properties. The whole thing is one big joke. A bigger joke is to call the Greeks lazy. I just hope this saga comes to an end really soon with some major changes by all involved because there are a lot of dark clouds over Greece and they are spreading really fast....

    Kind regards.
