The 900m are the customers as well as the product. Annoy them and there goes your product. Flash a McDonald's link on a vegetarian's page and see what happens. I won't care much if I switch to an alternative other than Facebook - I jumped to there from MySpace anyway.
Email choice is overpopulated and emailing is "so yesterday" anyway. Furthermore Google doesn't make anything out of its email.
If the pay $2 to be more popular trial in NZ is an example of Facebook's innovation to come, then it doesn't look too flash, IMO.
Anyway, we'll see. I've been wrong plenty of times before, but I'm tempted to see if I can short this one.
