Don't get me wrong.. I am a very strong supporter of Salt Reactors (Throium).. This is big for someone like me who was anti Nuke power for 20 years.

Having done some decent research into the Thorium reactors (some very good books and videos out now), all I can say is that it is a tragedy they were not allowed to progress in the cold war, but rather, conventional uranium reactors because of their byproduct which could be used for Nuclear weapons.

having said that, I don't think we need to gear the LAMP to generate the thorium for this purpose... perhaps down the track when all of this SLSM stuff is finished we can consider it... but for now the smart way forward is to steer clear of other controversial issues... and trust me, Nuclear/Thorium reactors in Malaysia topic is very controversial.

The SLSM crowd will have a field day with this.
