In a recession commodities fall, even the best of stocks like BHP fall. A drop in copper prices will effect all producers.

A fall in the copper price will effect copper stocks, its that simple.

I doubt that too many would dispute that. A question is: what impact does a widely distributed newsletter have on the SP?

When there is a buy recommendation the SP can go up to levels that would not be case otherwise.

When there is a sell recommendation the SP can down to levels that would not be case otherwise.

These spikes/dips may be temporary in nature, but in my view dilute the benefit of these newsletters.
