Hi Kingsley,
I have been looking at Cambodia and have received some very
good feedback from several people in the know up there.
It appears that no one else is having problems other than normal/standard issues getting samples out for assay.
There is now at least one lab setup in Phnom Penh which I believe is ALS. Apparently they can do prep and gold fire assays without having to have the whole sample sent out. This would indicate that first pass gold results on soil or drill core samples could be done without any customs issues, however, the pulps would then be required to be sent out to labs in say Australia to determine the other elements.
Now what does that mean? Well I believe it says that gold results could be obtained within a couple of weeks at the absolute outside from delivery to the lab in Phnom Penh.
Thus no excuses can be made by the board at all!!
Additionally, it is rumoured that several other Co's have had some very interesting results from their licenses, admittedly these are in different locations, however, IDC's reports state that the Kratie location in particular is in the same trend and geo setting as say the old Oz Minerals area. So there is obviously great potential in Cambodia and the Co should really state that cash requirements preclude additional work being done there as PNG needs the cash. This is fair and logical as I dont believe that any SH would imagine that Cambodia is a short term play.
However, the reality of the cash position should suggest that a care and maintenance approach ie slightly mothball the operation there as other Co's have done, would be correct, but then we get back to the excessive cash burn there for an operation that is not active nor producing of results.
It appears that almost a million dollars pa is needed to run a minimal operation that is non core. Why dont they trim it back to a minimal outlay rather than having unnecessary high and non productive expenses??
In summary, they have samples which should be able to be assayed easily and immediately, however, rather than spending the cash on that they are spending it on keeping very high office maintenance costs.
Lets see if this version gets moderated. There was nothing defamatory in the previous version, so I must be close to the truth and that is getting someone's nose out of joint.
