Ahuroa gas storage facility unaffected by Origin sale

Contact Energy Limited (Contact) notes Origin Energy Limited's (Origin)
agreement to sell its Tariki, Ahuroa, Waihapa and Ngaere (TAWN) fields in New
Zealand's Taranaki region.

Chief Operating Officer, Graham Cockroft, commented that "Contact has been
involved in this process and confirms that it will not affect the operation
of its Ahuroa gas storage facility. The sale agreement excludes the Ahuroa
gas storage facility, which will continue to be held by Contact".
