ahpigsy is right - 968,421 short traded out of total volume traded (not total shares on issue) = 27%

This is significant and no doubt there were more shorters today, so any sign of improvement in overall market will means shorters have to cover, resulting in another 10 to 20% rise for LNC.

Im actually surprised it held up this well on such a terrible day !!
