"just pop your head in and ask a cafe owner next time your having a coffee "

    alh

by default, i own a cafe. i bought it in partnership as a financial backer with friends and my wife at the height of the GFC. the friends walked out owing to other pressures after one year.

trust me, it is doing just fine. better than forecast, in fact. people will always need to eat, and if executed correctly, eating out does not have to be more expensive than cooking at home

now i will admit that other food businesses might be struggling, but i expect this is because of poor business models and practices. continuity of service, price and quality are wanting in many establishments, IMO, along with dedicated management time.

that again can be attributed to the unreasonable expectations typical of modern society. we are spoilt.

in my entire life, most of the complaints i have heard have come not from impoverished 3rd world people, but from those whose only gripe is failing to make money from property or the stockmarket.

    says alot.
