G'day TG....I know where you're coming from and frustrating mate that they haven't drilled Senegal after all these years, but bottom line is FAR can't afford to drill alone. After Shell poo-canned FAR's fan plays with Rocksources CSEM it's obvious no one wants to play ball with FAR.
Good news though is Rocksources CSEM survey's have shown up to be worthless (great to see they're now paying a price for their flawed data) – you have to love this link

IMO it is in light of this flawed CSEM data that AP are planning to drill the 600 mill + boe Alhamdulillah structure in Gambia on 3D Seismic alone. Worth remembering Shell came back into Senegal on the back of FAR’s 3D survey results, but left on the CSEM results??? Obviously they liked what they saw in the 3D results.
Just happens Alhamdulillah overlaps into FAR's Senegal block by around 25% - is this the olive branch FAR has been waiting for. The way I see it once AP lock a rig in and confirm a spud date for Alhamdulillah, FAR are in fact drilling for 100 mill + boe at no cost or financial risk. This is planned for Q4 2012, so less than 6 months time.
IMO success by AP at Alhamdulillah, will not only add significant value to FAR's SP but will see a re-rating of FAR's Senegal Fan structures and the 1 bill boe "Buried Hill" target which will see a flood of JV offers on the table. FAR’s most prospective fan play, the southern fan (500 mill boe) is in closest proximity to Alhamdulillah.
Nice thing on the back of this FAR hold a 90% stake in Senegal so the rewards will be substantial. Lots of talk about Kenya and success the effect of the Mbawa drill (and justifiably so) but AP's Alhamdulillah drill could have a similar/greater effect. Not being greedy but success on both sides of Africa would be nice.
So keep an eye on AP and if they lock in a drill date for Alhamdulillah, FAR will have one of their Senegal targets tested for free.
Hang in there mate…… not FAR to wait now..
Cheers
