I think if you do some research you will find that the sovereign risk profile for madagascar in comparison with tanzania, mozambique and zambia is quite similar. Interestingly enough Madagasacar from a social aspect has a lot more going for it as well for e.g. a lot lower infant mortality rate, higher life expectancy, far greater education rates and significantly lower WHO disease rates e.g. AIDS rate a low lower in Madagascar than Tanzania and Zambia.

The fact is, all East African nations have corrupt democratic foundations and this is not likely to change in the near future. You see the mining industry is the most important part of the portfolio for these economies as it allows this corruption to continue. So in reality unless civil war breaks out, Ill be sleeping well with not a worry for MGY's mining operations to continue.

p.s. The Civil War in Mozambique concluded in October 1992 and all refugees who fled from this period of war and famine returned the year after. The economy has been rebounding strongly ever since with a median growth rate of 7% p.a GDP.
