    I agree, there is no good to come from shorting other than lining the pockets of a few at the expense of many. The supporting of this by regulators totally undermines the confidance of the market and it's the "mums and dads" type of investor that gets hurt.

    Also to blame is the fund managers that loan shares (that they do not own) for a fee. How this conflict of interest is legal, is beond me.
