Yeh, 5-10 years. Do some reading on European Commission Research & Innovation website. You will see that the industry isn't standing still.
CFUs tech is now being installed and tested in SOFT-PACT with a view that by late 2014 having proven CFUs claim of 5 year lifespan out of cells, training, performance etc warranties, remote control and monitoring etc for mass deployment(they claim post 2015 @ 5k EUR). This is ties up with E.ON so no doubt CFU will be involved with the field deployment along with other companies if the trials meet their deliverables.
Along with this trial that CFU are involved in; there are numerous other trials including reducing the temps required by SOFC but maintaining its electrical efficiency...the goal being to increase fuel stack life. The sooner you are established in the fuell cell mCHP game the easier it will be to survive on cash flow and have funded product development....which is where the likes of Baxi/Valiant have a signification advantage over CFU. CFU like Bllom Box are not established companies with revenues and are relying on investment to keep the story alove
So they may end up being players, but like Topsoe etc are not going to influence whether CFU keep their doors open and are a success or not.
