Hi all
The concept of being a 'millionaire ' has never been upgraded over the last 5 decades. Reminds me about the story of Rip Van Winkle waking up and looking at his bank account that has gone from $100 to $5m due to interest on the account...."wooppee "he exalts and then goes to make a local phone call when the operator says "that will be $3m sir ".
Related to this is looking at medians for real estate and sale price changes, sometimes the $$ spent on upgrading a property is not taken into account and we just look a the raw sales price and assume squillions were made on the deal
The article refers to Brasil increasing its millionaires by 6.2%....all fine and well but over there the level of poverty and violence is unbelievable. Basically, 6.2% more people with that status living in fear and spending more on security systems and toys to play within the safety of their walled and guarded homes.
You can be a 'millionaire ' and still be poor in terms of $$ and the important things in life.
