GENERAL: ANB060: ANZ NATIONAL BANK LIMITED NZ$350 MILLION SUBORDINATED BONDS

ANZ NATIONAL BANK LIMITED NZ$350 MILLION SUBORDINATED BONDS DUE 23 JULY 2017
("the Bonds")

We wish to advise that on 23 July 2012, ANZ National Bank Limited will be
exercising its right to repay the Bonds, in accordance with clause 4.2 of the
Subordinated Bonds Deed Poll dated 6 September 2006.

As at the date of this letter your holding of these Bonds is recorded as.

Repayment of the principal amount of, and interest on, the Bonds held by you
as at 13 July 2012 (the record date for the payment) will be made in
accordance with your instructions to Computershare Investor Services Limited.
