These outrageous increases by the energy companies are plainly designed as outright ripoffs and to coincide with the carbon tax so they can lie and blame the tax.
It is not only the banks who manipulate and lie.
My supplier (origin) even credited a rebate of mine to someone else with the same name and (for privacy reasons??) even refused to check the other guys account to see. I worked out what had happened when they quoted the other guys address lol. Initially they refused to reinstate my rebate BUT offered me a discount for another year. I accepted then gave them the minute and second of my original call to them so they could check their recordings. Result was they never replied but I got both the rebate plus another year of discount. Oddly when I called them again they refused to discuss the matter. Bloody crooks rip us off every time if they can get away with it.
