I live in Darwin and have noticed the number of PC3 Orions flying out on patrol has dramatically increased over the last week. Also the frequency the patrol boats are in and out of port with short stop overs before redeploying north has been constant over last month. This activity in itself is an enormous cost to maintain and thats even before they intercept and take into custody all the "legitimate" refugees.
Wont be long before the Fed Govt announces a multi billion cruise ship passenger terminal for christmas island, and why not a $200 - $300 million dollar resort attached as well.
IT WILL BE BLOODY CHEAPER!!!
We obviously are a joke to the indonesians at least if not the rest of the world. What a disgrace!!!
