That one will haunt Tony Abbott as much as 'core' & 'non-core' election promises came back to haunt John Howard.

Every time I hear Michelle Grattan ask a question at the National Press Club in Canberra the audience goes dead quiet. I suspect that's a measure of respect from other journalists. My guess is that her recent articles, such as those below, are pretty well spoton.

Perhaps Grattan should be on that special committee Gillard established.
