The whole article is worth re-reading,imo...but

"PERTH - Diversified miner African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) and its joint venture (JV) partner Anglo American Platinum (Amplats) were offered the Hoepekrantz property as a settlement in its dispute with ASX-listed Nkwe Platinum, but refused the offer, a source close to the deal said.

The Hoepekrantz tenement is estimated to host some 16-million ounces of platinum-group metals and was one of five farms at the heart of the dispute between Nkwe, ARM and Amplats."

    (it gets nasty and then....)

"In December last year, Nkwe and its black economic-empowered partner Genorah Resources initiated discussions with Amplats and ARM, as well as the DMR in order to settle a long-standing dispute as to the ownership of the five farms.

The matter had initially been settled in Nkwe’s favour in 2008, however, the platinum developer restarted negotiations to further conclude a binding court-approved settlement.

It was expected that the ownership dispute would be resolved shortly."

    Note the words i emboldened
Ownership of the five farms...ie surface ownership, i assume.

"resolved shortly" after that article dated 2/3/12
there is a handover of title deeds ceremony reported occured 12/5/12 re farm O but commonly known as Difagate? at Modikwa involving 19 land claims being combined...etc

Title deeds means 'ownership of land' and I am just trying to findout if that ownership has anything to do with the anglo/ARM stance protecting shareholders re ownership etc etc .re MDeeps.

and as MM wanted a 'binding court approved settlement'...??
is that re ownership of land?
I come back to those title deeds..
    and....
some reports say the government paid for the property and others read like the Mine did?
    and ...
H farm isnt on the Anglo diagram given on their website for Modikwa Mine..

"BURGERSFORT - The provincial MEC for agriculture, Mr Jacob Marule, officiated at the handover of title deeds from Modikwa Platinum Mine to the Mangabane community on May 12.
"This is the beginning of a new life for claimants and we are here to celebrate victory against the forced removal of our people from their land. This community is now richer than any other we can think of in Limpopo," said Marule.

He urged the Hwashi Difagate Community Trust, a legal entity for the community, to cooperate with the mine to eradicate poverty and urged the community not to fight over the land again but enjoy its fruits." cont.

Well that sounds like ARM/Anglo and the Trust are cooperating...

How is NKWE going with ARM/Anglo?
    I could go on.....
