Allday, I only started investing in the 1980's so the $800 peak had already passed.
I only bought my first gold stock around 1999 or 2000 when I got bullish on gold.
So sorry can't help you through personal experience- may be someone else can.

Re Buccaneer;

I am not at all saying I expect Buccaneer to have a near zero NPV.
I expect it will have a positive NPV at $1600 gold, but I'm not prepared to have a stab at it.
I was reasonably confident in putting a value on OP and got it pretty close but I'm not confident I will be close enough with Buccaneer. I will wait for the FS.
I simply assumed a near zero NPV to keep the example simple and conservative to show what it will likely be worth as a minimum as the POG rises to $2000 or $2500 off a zero base.
