    I think it is enough providing you generate some level of income from the funds you have available. If you say get a conservative 5% return from any investments then use this and supplement with the cash holdings you have. It depends on your definition of comfortable as well. Don't forget there are some families that 'survive' on the minimum wage, I consider your assets will give you far more than that. If you don't have it in super then that changes things a bit as you will pay tax. At age 60 super withdrawals are tax free, that's a big incentive to have at least some assets in a super fund. I recently retired with significantly less funds than you and providing I am actively engaged in my investment decisions I should live 'çomfortably' until age 88. Do I really want to be here at age 88?
