re: 'petrol could go to $1.10 a litre
On a recent shopping trip to Cairns I filled up at Woolies Petrol Plus. LRP per litre was 69 cents and with my shopping docket from Big W I got 10 cents a litre knocked off so I paid 59 cents a litre.
Nearby servos were charging around 89 cents a litre at the time.
This difference is massive and I do not think the local operators were working on big margins, so something is clearly fishy with the wholesale distribution of petrol in Queensland and probably elsewhere also.
