"If your not making mistakes, your not doing anything".
He made a couple, taking advice from gillard and co was the most obvious one. Ive said before,he really isnt aligned to any particular faction in the party. Which in hindsight was his attraction to all and sundry in the party in the first place. Clearly there was a very long game being played, to start with. The mad monk had the majority in the senate, this was his trump card and he used it,he no longer has that advantage. Theres very little time if he were to retake the leadership,to undo,or ameliorate that which has been done. I'm still mindful of the conversation Gary Grey the member for Brand had with Paul Murray on 6pr Perth radio. Gary Grey said 80 percent of local constituants spoke to him at the Rockingham Mussel festival, telling him to vote for Rudd. GG said, he wouldnt, even though not voting for him meant that those same voters would vote for another candidate. GG said Im resigned to be in either oppostion or not in parliament.(if this isnt word for word, its bloody close).
What I dont like, and all is fair in love and war, that the campainge against Rudd was financed by mainly foreign owned mining companies. I have no doubt local Australians with super funds with a pecuniary interest jumped boots in all on to this band wagon, and to hell with the national interest. These are the same people who talk of a hand up when in actual essence,it is a hand out to the middleclass.
When the chips fall and land in what ever direction they do,I will be okay, but I suspect neither those that require reall asistance will get it and the country will be the poorer,as vested interest will prevail.
