thanks for the effort zebra. I noticed the shares were being converted into these "derivative" options by looking at prior UBS notices.
The current shorts are at a ridiculous level. The cumulative daily shorts are increasing at a rate of 10% of total daily volume. Which is just impossible, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the lending institution was buying the shares that are being short sold by the borrowing institution - thereby creating a cycle which increases the number of shares in circulation (a bit like bank inflation where more money is created from the deposit/loan cycle).
