    IMHO, what we are seeing is a dying Government propping up the economy so they can hand over something good in October this year. In the new hands, what will we see?

    Also these East Asian economies have a totally different way of looking at things. Remember the 1980s when Japan was going to overtake the US, the US companies were traveling to Japan to find out how they were doing it so well? Then about 1990 it all fell in a hole and has not recovered since. The Nikei was at about 37,000. China will do the same thing.

    As for data from China, it is all guess work. "What number do they want this month?"

    I do not trust the Chinese as far as I can throw them. As my Hong Kong student told me, "HK people are tricky." That goes for all the Chinese.
