It is always going to be challenging trying to predict where gold is going to go based on charts. It is pretty clear that the gold price is strongly manipulated by a few large countries trying to preserve their fiat currency, so it is not honestly traded in a market subject to the normal influences of supply and demand. Long term, the establishment of the PAGE gold market in China will offer at least an alternative substantive market in which to buy and sell gold, and will decrease the stranglehold these countries have on what the true gold price should be. I could be very wrong (I am sure many will agree), but there is a certain irony behind actually wanting China (of all countries) to bring back some honesty to the way this precious metal is traded. Until then (approx 5 years), we will all just to exist under the auspices of these large few, and hope they decide to manipulate up or lose control as the macro environment overwhelms even their levels of influence.
