its great you love QFX service but appletv has one other huge benefit:

lets see now:

XBMC interface which is delightful and customisable
No cost of movies, as they are streamed from your pc

Yes i know its "piracy" but piracy is the exact reason why QFX and other models fail so often...

Foxtel has atleast got live sport, i will pay for live sport..

Itunes wasnt the reason for a decline in piracy, itunes simply allowed people who werent capable of downloading before to download now..

if you look at cd sales vs itunes sales, there was a massive inverse in the two mediums, primarily for 2 reasons:

1. once on your itunes account it cannot be lost like a cd can (can always re-download)
2. people who couldnt download got an iphone and needed music thus the pre-packaged platform..

Peer2peer download servers have got more seed members now than ever before.. whats more, nobody can ever stop it..

all you need is a tv card in your pc and you can make any show on your tv into an mp4/avi as you watch....

It seems silly to try and stop this form of media for several reasons:

Firstoff, to avoid spoilers many fans will watch the original tv release rather than download, or go to the movie.

Secondly, If i wasnt willing to pay the 8$ to go to the theatre and see a movie, whats the chance im going to pay 15$ per month to stream it in poor quality?

Thirdly, P2p cannot ever truly be shut down, as the members encompass such a large extent of the populas, court and jail costs would cripple the country trying to enforce it.. not to mention the effort by the police/investigators to catch people..

Finally, (and this is the end of my rant), eventually all the people in the piracy generation will die off and the only people left will have always known piracy, lived with it, done it etc. Entertainment needs to move away from dvd sales and into advertising revenues, IPTV sales and deals by tv stations for first release rights (as the first release will get higher rev's..)
