Excellent questions Meta, but lets hope that the short interest is being unwound.
As at 26/7 the gross short position was about 17.5 million, which was a 10 million fall on the previous day and the lowest it has been since late June.

We can only wait for these guys to unwind their trades.
I do sound like I'm resigned to the notion, but I can't see another way out.
