IMHO extending the rights issue would normally be a bad sign but management sounds pretty confident that upcomming news will help the SP spike where buying into the rights issue will become favorable. I am assuming that they have something up their sleeve even if it is just the gold pour to suprise on the upside. Just my thoughts
