Trees the day of allusions!

There was a lot in the news about treasurer Wayne Swan being motivated by the music of Bruce Springsteen.

But a "swan song" is sort of a "last hurrah" - the final big ending.

This comes from the legend that swans, as birds, don't "sing" except when they are about to die, when they sing their one and only song.

I sort of combined the two facts in a trivial way. It amused me.
