From Scott`s plan Desiree drill pad looks to be about 2 surface miles from the sinkhole but as the oil reservoir is a lot deeper than the suspected cause of the problem would hope OK. Looks like there is more problem keeping hydrocarbons underground than finding them and that breaching the edge of the salt dome is not a good idea.
