So here's my current theory of Hardman, Guyana, and China
Woodside have stated that they don't have an interest in Guyane, for whatever reasons
Hardman need a farm in partner for Guyane for cash reasons. They don't need drilling expertise or operating expertise at this stage. They need someone with deep pockets
Woodside is very protective of Mauritania and unless taken over themselves won't want the Chinese poking into it.
So Hardman goes into Guyane with a Chinese Oil outfit. The farm in agreement is generous on the face of it to Hardman - ie Hardman retain a good slice of Guyane, hwever it contains an option over the Guyane business
They strike oil and Hardman splits into two companies. One focused solely on Guyane and will end up probably fully owned by the Chinese company. Woodside will sell out their 10% to the Chinese. The other company will be Hardman as we know it today but without Guyane.
Just a thought to pass the time while wating for the aciton to start.
Cheers Zinc
