Mate, chart can sometimes be self fullfilling that is if there are enough technical traders believe in the same reading coupled with a set of circumtances than the chart will be proven right or percieved as being right well before the events.
I use chart and fundamental and both are important tool in my book but I have to say I have not use it to time my trade for the past 6 months as much as before as sentiment like news is the one I pay attention most and it has been working magically for me.
If it was easy then everyone will follow what chart says and everyone will make the same move.....but hey as I say 1000 traders can see the same chart yet come with 1000 different interpretations.
ECB and FED will make the market move next.
