CT, I don't think you, I, or anyone else here are the type to oppose such a thing. The opposition would be initiated by those that some may term "tree-huggers". And when the proponent is a foreigner the perceptions and political clout is easier to ferment.
Telling people that a banana has more radiation, which I don't dispute, isn't going to change perceptions and / or agendas.
